'Netiquette', by Virginia Shea (1994) is an innovative and engaging take on how to act appropriately, professionally and effectively online. She has put forward 10 core guidelines to follow while online that have proved to be exceedingly helpful to our study of learning spaces.
These are listed below:

Netiquette, Virginia Shea (1994)
From reading these 'rules', I have reflected on the guidelines, chosen two statements, and amended them so that they can represent a positive online interaction that is effective, as well as an online interaction to avoid during our eCommunity of Practice.
"In an online forum always endeavour to keep an open mind and 'seek to understand before being understood' as you take in all the different valued perspectives from the eCop".
"When interacting online, avoid putting forward statements, information or opinions in a negative manner as they can be misconstrued as ornery or recusant."
I look forward to honing my 'Netiquette' skills as I progress through this unit.
