I thought for one of my first blogs on my PNL I would share with you the power of online teaching resources! 'Our Neighbourhood' is a 5 lesson plan for the teaching of ICT and Science focusing on the Built Environments topic that myself and two other pre-service teachers created for a unit last year.

These lessons are not only accessible online, but include a program to 'create your neighbourhood'. By ultilising the 5 E's approach of Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate, students are invited to map out where they live and ultimately are able to plan, design and build their environment!

The fact that we were able to convey a subject in such an engaging and interactive way illustrates the effective and intriguing power of learning online as well as shows a creative addition to 'Inquiry Based Learning'.
